Rifd: People with special needs: Between Acceptance and Family Upbringing Patterns
Course Title: People with special needs: Between Acceptance and Family Upbringing Patterns Instructor: Bassam A. Alrawashdeh Course Delivery: Round table discussion/Face to face Language: Arabic Description: The workshop aims to shed light on family attitudes upon the emergence of a child with special needs, ranging between acceptance and rejection. It seeks to understand the relationship between these attitudes and the various family upbringing methods practiced within the household, and their role in determining the extent to which the child’s condition is negatively or positively impacted in acquiring crucial life skills and overcoming challenges. This is achieved through the family’s acceptance, efforts to seek assistance, consultations, and resorting to places that offer support, assistance, and necessary training to the child at the early stages of identifying their condition to guide them towards acceptable outcomes that aid them in becoming a well-adjusted individual who leads their life normally, far from the severe consequences that could occur for the child and their family if the family rejects dealing with the condition, accepting it, and not seeking specialized services and assistance.
